In a wrap up of this week’s snow event, the National Weather Service Chicago says lake effect snowfall rates of more than two inches an hour were seen in some of the most intense snow bands, especially in areas of Lake County in northwest Indiana and Kankakee County in Illinois, locally. The National Weather Service also said there were several reports of thundersnow early Monday November 10, 2025. Unofficial totals included 12.3 inches in Cedar Lake by noon yesterday November 10, 2025, 10.5 in St. John, 10 inches in Crown Point and Lowell, over 9 inches in the Valparaiso area, and 6.5 inches in Hobart.
