With less than five days remaining until FEMA’s deadline to apply for individual assistance, Indiana Governor Mike Braun is announcing opportunities for storm impacted Hoosiers to receive in-person assistance with relief programs, including FEMA’s individual assistance, so that they can get their applications in before the October 25, 2026, deadline. Additional in-person opportunities are scheduled in northwest Indiana, including various locations in Lake and Porter counties.
“As the FEMA deadline for assistance approaches, I implore all Hoosiers impacted by the August disaster to apply before Oct. 25,” said Gov. Braun. “At my direction, representatives across the state will continue to be available leading up to the deadline to assist Hoosiers in-person.”
Representatives at centers across eight counties will provide in-person assistance, answer questions and help homeowners and renters with programs like FEMA’s Individual Assistance, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) disaster loans and the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF). Some locations will also have a Community Education and Outreach Specialist (CEO) available for individuals to connect with. Not all services are available at every location, and some locations might have additional services available that are not listed.
These services are designed to help storm impacted Hoosiers navigate the recovery process and are provided at no cost, and no appointment is necessary to attend.
In-person support will be available in the following counties:
• Carroll County, Flora-Monroe Township Public Library (Oct. 21)
• Delaware County, various locations (Oct. 23 – Oct. 24)
• Hamilton County, Noblesville Public Library (Oct. 22)
