In northwest Indiana, storm recovery efforts continue at Humane Indiana Wildlife following Monday’s (July 27 2026) severe weather. The nonprofit rescue says two outdoor enclosures at its Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Porter County were destroyed and several others were damaged. Numerous trees also fell. They said all the animals were unharmed in the storms. They also said they are planning a volunteer day opportunity soon for people to come and help directly at the center. Donations can also be made online and through their Amazon wishlist.
