Still no green light for Lake and Porter county on bird feeders. This stemming from a mystery illness impacting songbirds in the Hoosier state and elsewhere. In late May, Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) started getting reports of sick and dying birds from Monroe County. The USGS National Wildlife Health Center’s avian disease experts continue testing to try and determine the cause of the disease outbreak. Here is a link to a special page at the Indiana DNR website for updates.
