Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels will be joined by federal, state and local officials to open the first three sections of the new I-69 corridor in southwest Indiana. The new sections will cover a 67-mile stretch representing what the governor's office says has been the longest contiguous new interstate construction project in the United States. Starting at just after 9:30 Eastern Time this morning, Governor Daniels will lead a ceremonial parade ride between three separate grand opening events. The new I-69 corridor will officially open to traffic by 6-o'clock Eastern Time tonight, state officials say, in time for the Thanksgiving travel holiday.
