Chesterton's fire department is encouraging residents to attend a special presentation this month. Fire chief Mike Orlich says the informational forum is on a proposal to enhance their current e-m-s service by providing an A-L-S, “advanced life support” transport service.  Chief Orlich says being a non-transport service, there is currently no fee, but with the enhancement, there would be a charge for transport, just like there currently is with the hospital, and service within the town would be provided by Chesterton's own fire department. The forum is Tuesday October 16th , 6 pm, at Chesterton Town Hall.
