A motorist reportedly called 911 when a kitchen fire broke out at a well-known Hammond restaurant Sunday. Published reports say fire crews responded to The Wheel restaurant on Indianapolis Boulevard Sunday morning after a motorist spotted smoke. A post on the restaurant's Facebook page describes the fire as having started at the kitchen grill and states the restaurant will reopen soon.
