The three suspects who allegedly robbed two Hammond Sanitation workers who were picking up garbage in an alley in the 500 block of Chicago Avenue Saturday, now face felony charges. Hammond Police Chief Brian Miller says the Lake County Prosecutor's office have charged all three suspects, who range in age from 20-to-23 years-old, with two counts of felony robbery. One of the suspects who allegedly fired his pistol in the direction of a female who was trying to drive around the garbage truck during the robbery, was also charged with one count of felony pointing a firearm and one count of Criminal Recklessness. Chief Miller says the bullet never struck the female or her car. All three suspects have been taken to the Lake County jail.
