Demolition work got underway in Gary today [Wednesday, Jan. 30] on several buildings adjacent to the Indiana University Northwest campus south of 35th Avenue. These include some recently acquired university buildings that are vacant and have been scheduled for demolition as part of a neighborhood partnership effort between IU Northwest and the City of Gary. The project is being managed by the city and the university says it is not expected to impact campus traffic or otherwise cause inconvenience to the campus community.
