The Nine Span Bridge on Indianapolis Boulevard, or State Road152, in north Lake County closed Monday, January 14th to begin demolition and eventual replacement of the 1930's-era structure. The Indiana Department of Transportation says a new bridge is expected to open before the end of the year. Here's detour information from INDOT:
A detour will take northbound traffic south on S.R. 152 (Indianapolis Blvd.), east on I-80/94, north on S.R. 912 (Cline Ave.), and west on U.S. 20 (Michigan St.). Southbound traffic will travel east on U.S. 20 (Michigan St.), south on S.R. 912 (Cline Ave.), west on I-80/94, and north on S.R. 152 (Indianapolis Blvd.).
