Porter County Sheriffs Police say extra patrols in Center and Porter Townships in the wake of thefts from vehicles and home break-ins resulted in the arrest of a 24-year-old Lake Eliza man. Authorities say the man was taken into custody early Saturday in the area of Cherrywood Lane and Split Rail Court in Porter Township for three counts of theft, attempted theft, and resisting law enforcement.
Porter County Detectives are looking to see if the suspect has any links to the other thefts and burglaries in the area. The Porter County Sheriff's Department reminds everyone to lock their vehicles at all times, to not leave any valuables in their vehicles, and is asking residents to call in any suspicious vehicles or persons in their neighborhoods.
