From James M. Laud, Sr., Indiana Chapter 2 President, Indiana State Chairman
Sons and Daughters of Pearl Harbor Survivors
Sons and Daughters of Pearl Harbor Survivors will conduct the annual Pearl Harbor Day Memorial Service previously conducted by Pearl Harbor Survivors Assn. Indiana Chapter 2. The service will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012 and commence at 10:55 am central time. This will take place at the Highland Main Square Gazebo in Highland, Indiana. We also ask those who have U.S. Flags to fly them at half-staff in accordance with Public Law 103-308 in honor of those who died and persevered the surprise Japanes attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Over 2,400 servicemen and civilians were killed as a result of the attack which lasted less than 2 hours; some of them taking several days to die as a result of being trapped in their ships, and unable to be rescued.
