Northern Indiana Commuter Transit District, or NICTD, trustees on Friday unanimously approved their 2013 business plan, which means schedules and a fare increase is unlikely in 2013. The Times reports the only thing that may change that is a significant hike in Metra fares, which led to a five-percent increase back in February. Published reports say NICTD also apologized for a two-percent increase from last year of rush-hour trains arriving at stops more than five minutes late, noting unusual accidents and track restrictions due to construction projects as contributing to the on-time performance.
