Remember the bank robber who hit a Michigan City bank and then flung money out the window attempting to distract the police chasing him across the 80/94 corridor last spring? The authorities sure do. The 33-year-old Elburn, Illinois man was sentenced in U.S. District Court in South Bend to six-in-half years behind bars and three years of supervised release for aggravated bank robbery and use of a dangerous weapon. By-the-way, according to the FBI out of Merrillville of the 130-thousand stolen, only about one third has been recovered. That's leading investigators to believe, according to http://www.nwitimes.com, a lot of the cash went into the pockets of passing motorists who stopped to pick up some of the loose bills.
