Notre Dame and the University of Miami will do battle on the gridiron at Chicago's Soldier Field this Saturday, and the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District is making sure they will be able to accommodate those going to Soldier Field from South Bend and back. NICTD Officials report they have complied a database of 300 emails from those interested in attending, something they have never done before. As a result, the South Shore Line has added an extra westbound train leaving South Bend for Museum Campus, and an extra eastbound train departing Museum Campus 60 minutes following the conclusion of the game.
Meanwhile officials say, effective October 13th, they will no longer be running the 513 eastbound train from Millennium Station to South Bend due to the drop in ridership on Sundays and because of how late it arrives in South Bend. That eastbound train will now make its final stop in Michigan City. The new schedule will be posted on October 8th.
