Merrillville is considering approving big fines for big fireworks- those banned by federal law - which include M-80s and “cherry bombs,” according to a published report today. Officials have heard concerns about excessive fireworks in town, and the town council next week is expected to vote on possible fines of up to two-thousand dollars.
