The Greater Northwest Indiana Association of Realtors announced today the hiring of its new Chief Operating Officer. Nichole DeMario, Director of Communications and Professional Development with the Greater Northwest Indiana Association of Realtors, told the Region News Team Joe Wszolek will take over the position formerly held by Pat Pullara who retired this past April.
For almost a quarter of a century, Wszolek has been active in the real estate industry in the capacity of a real estate agent or appraiser. He has served on both the GNIAR and GNIAR Multiple Listing Service Boards of Directors. He was a GNIAR/MLS Director for two separate terms before transitioning to the GNIAR Board of Directors in 2010. Since then, he has also held the positions of Treasurer and President-Elect. He has played an integral role in GNIAR’s Government Affairs as the Government Affairs Committee Chairperson since 2008 and a REALTORS® Political Action Committee Trustee since 2011. He’s participated in numerous other committees and task forces over the years.
Along with his involvement in the Association and MLS, Wszolek has been extremely active in the community including his role as President of the Porter County Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals, Member of the 2040 Comprehensive Regional Plan Steering and Implementation Committees as well as the time he spent as town councilman in Highland, Indiana among other pursuits.
He received his Bachelor of Science in Supervision/Management from Purdue University and his Masters of Science in Business Administration from Indiana University. He holds several real estate designations and certifications and was named REALTOR® of the Year in 2012.
