Beef and Cottage Cheese Recall

ABC News reports the government has ordered the recall of 1.8 million pounds of beef produced by a Michigan company, saying it could be contaminated with E-coli bacteria. The list of recalled products runs nearly a hundred pages. The beef, produced between March 31st and April 18th, was sent to restaurants in at least four states -- Michigan, Massachusetts, Missouri and Ohio. Officials won't say where the recalled meat was served, but they do say it was not used in school lunches, or in meals for the military. Eleven people have been treated for illnesses linked to the recalled beef.
Meanwhile, Kraft has recalled Breakstone's Cottage Cheese, Knudsen, Simply Kraft and Daily Chef Cottage Cheeses, over a million containers, with dates May 9th and July 23rd stamped on them. Kraft says some ingredients were not stored at proper temperatures at the plant...which could lead to premature spoiling and illnesses...though Kraft reports none so far.
