Snow Showers Obscure Sky Show in Region

Overnight snow showers prevented many in the Region from the overnight sky show ... but Tariq Malik, managing editor of the online news site Space-dot-com  says don't worry if you missed the total lunar eclipse last night. There's another on October 8th, and two more next year, he says, April and September 2015.  NASA says the series of four total lunar eclipses occurring at approximate six-month intervals is known as a “tetrad”. Tuesday's early-morning celestial show, produced by the Moon entering the Earth's shadow, got stunning around 2 am Region Time, when the eclipse reached totality and the coppery glow of the Earth's shadow gave the moon a reddish hue for a little over an hour.
