A federal judge in Evansville today issued a ruling in favor of a request from a Lake County couple seeking to have their same-sex marriage recognized in Indiana before one of them, who is battling cancer, passes away. U.S. District Court Judge Richard Young granted a temporary restraining order to prevent the state from enforcing its gay marriage ban on the couple. The 37-year-old women, who live in Munster, have been together for over a decade and were married in Massachusetts last year.
