Hammond PD
An investigation continues after a man, who is believed to have fatally shot his wife, turned the gun on himself at their home in Robertsdale Saturday night. Hammond Police Lt. Richard Hoyda told the Region News Team they responded to the scene, in the two-thousand block of Lincoln Avenue, just before midnight, and at last check, the suspect was still listed in critical condition.
The Lake County Coroners office says 37-year-old Renata Marquez died early Sunday of multiple gunshot wounds. Lt. Hoyda says a four-year-old child in the home at the time of the domestic shooting was not hurt and at last check was in his grandmother's custody.
