In Hobart Township, the River Forest School District is said to facing a deficit of more than 700-thousand dollars this year. Personnel and program cuts are anticipated, but those discussions are still underway. Changes set to begin this fall that will minimize staffing needs include all fifth and sixth-graders being taught at River Forest Elementary, while Evans on the west side of the school district and Meister to the east will house students from kindergarten through 4th grade.
