Former longtime Indiana Congressman Lee H. Hamilton addresses Shared Ethics Advisory Commission Annual Ethics in Government Breakfast in Hobart this morning.  Hamilton—since leaving Congress—has served as vice-chairman of the 9/11 Commission and currently serves as a member of the U.S. Homeland Security Council. His message to area office holders stressed the importance of ethics reform on all levels: national, state and local. Hamilton pointed out that the top quality desired by Indiana voters in those they vote for is integrity and stressed that the only way to maximize ethics is to stress its importance in all levels of training. Above all, Hamilton called upon the commission to continue placing importance on establishing a modern culture of ethics in Northwest Indiana. The Shared Ethics Commission is an all-volunteer group committed to providing training on ethical decision making to employees of Lake, Porter and La Porte Counties, and holds their annual Ethics in Government Breakfast in March, which is National Ethics Month.
