Applications for Free Smoke Detectors at Lowell FD

The Lowell Fire Department is taking applications for free smoke detectors for those who do not have them or need to replace an older model. Lowell Fire Chief Clint Gorball told the Region News Team up to two smoke detectors are available per household, as long as you live in the Lowell Fire Department's response area and you own your own home. The new ten-year smoke detectors, with a lithium ion battery that lasts for the life of the detector, have been made available through a grant from FEMA and hearing impaired detectors are also available that will work with hard-wired detectors.
