Indiana House Approves Teen Tan Ban

A new teen tan ban in Indiana awaits the Governor's signature. The Indiana House has voted 69-to-23 to approve a measure that prevents children under the age of 16 from using tanning salons. Senate Bill 50, authored by Republican Indianapolis State Senator Patricia Miller and co-sponsored by Republican Senators Sue Landske of Cedar Lake and Ed Charbonneau of Valparaiso, would replace the current law that requires Hoosiers under 16 to be accompanied by a parent or guardian when using a tanning device at a tanning place. The Senate approved the measure last month, 30-to-17.
