Crews can be seen still off-loading a semi that rolled onto it's side shortly before 3 p.m. CST Wednesday while traveling on the northbound I-65 entrance ramp to westbound I-80/94.
Indiana State Police at the Lowell post report the driver of the semi that was hauling approximately 42,450 pounds of bagged feed seed took the northbound exit ramp to westbound Borman (I-80/94) too fast causing the seed to shift and the trailer to roll over. ISP reports that the right lane on the exit ramp will be closed for the next 3 to 4 hours, as the individual bags of feed seed continue to be off-loaded at this time.
As seen in the above INDOT photo, the accident has caused a continuous backup of all the northbound lanes of I-65 from just before 45th Avenue. Motorists who find themselves headed toward the back up can take the 61st Ave. or Ridge Rd. exits west to Braodway to circumvent the trouble spot.
The accident site as seen about 3 hours after the crash happened, causing traffic heading toward westbound I-80/94 from the northbound I-65 exit ramp to pass by, single file, left lane only.
