A Former Merrillville Town Councilman indicted by a Lake County grand jury on a charge of forgery Thursday, turns himself in to authorities at the Lake County Jail on Friday.
According to published reports, the indictment stems from an investigation by Indiana State Police launched last May, into former councilman, Terrell Taylor's company, Taylor Development Corporation.
The Times is reporting that the charge is not related to anything he did while on the Town Council.
A Lake County grand jury indicted the 49 year-old Taylor on one count of Forgery, a Class C Felony.
If convicted, Taylor could be sentenced between two to eight years in prison, and be fined up to $10,000, according to the article. Taylor was released after posting bail.
