A 25 year old LaPorte man who had been listed as wanted by police since mid-December, on a warrant for felony criminal recklessness, was apprehended over the weekend. The LaPorte Police Department today announced that Samar Peoples was taken into custody after he was found hiding in a child's bedroom on the second floor of a home in the 700 block of Park Street. Police report they responded to the scene, just before 6pm on Friday, and discovered Peoples after being allowed to search the home for him. Peoples has additionally been charged with felony intimidation, after telling officers who were transporting him to the LaPorte County Jail that if he'd had his gun with him, he would have shot them.
