Police Warn of THC-Laced Candy in SW Indiana

Indiana State Police are warning parents and the public that troopers and area police are finding candy laced with Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in Southwest Indiana. Troopers say THC is the chemical compound found in marijuana that provides a “high” to the user. Most of the candy found by troopers resembles suckers, hard-rock candy and gummy worms and bears, and authorities say the candies look so much like regular candy that children or even adults wouldn’t hesitate to consume them. Indiana State Police encourage parents to inspect their children’s candy and be suspicious of unwrapped or re-wrapped candy in unfamiliar packaging.  Anyone with information concerning THC-laced candies is encouraged to contact the Indiana State Police.
