Subway to Stop Using Plastic-Based Chemical as Ingredient

Subway says it's going to stop using a plastic-based chemical as an ingredient in its sandwich bread -- a chemical also used to make yoga mats and the soles of sneakers. ABC News reports Subway advertises healthy choices but they've been baking that bread with a chemical that is approved as a food additive in the US, but banned in most of Europe. Subway says it will now stop using the chemical - a decision it says it made on its own, not in response to some 50-thousand signatures on a petition started by Vani Hari, a popular food blogger.
