The Porter County Sheriff's Office is warning citizens of a one-ring scam circulating. Public Information Officer, Sgt. Larry LaFlower says victims receive a call and the scammers either leave a message asking you to call them back or no message is left. If you do return the call, Sgt. LaFlower says a bill is charged to your phone and the scammers get that money. Sgt. LaFlower says they do not recommend calling back a number that you do not recognize.
