Government Wants to Improve Child Safety Seats

The government wants to improve child car safety seats and how well they provide side impact protection. ABC News reports the government thinks the new child seat child side crash standards will help make good seats even better and estimate it will save the lives of 5 children and prevent more than 60 injuries a year.  Acting transportation safety administrator David Friedman is asking car seat makers to add more cushion protection so children can survive low speed side impact crashes. He says most seats already do that...the government just wants a standard to make sure they all do.
