Indiana State Police at the Lowell Post are asking for the public's help as they investigate the second alleged road rage shooting on the Borman Expressway in less than a week. Troopers say a Lansing woman stated she had been on 25th Avenue in Gary driving slowly due to potholes when a car was following her too closely and she braked to get the car to move back, apparently angering the other driver. They both turned off 25th onto Burr Street and entered Interstate 80/94 westbound, where the woman said she noticed the other vehicle, a red four-door passenger car with dark tinted windows, pull alongside her and the driver began firing a gun, shooting four to five times as the victim drove away. Investigators determined one bullet struck the victim's car in the rear bumper, entering the trunk. The victim was not injured. Anyone who may have seen or witnessed the incident is asked to contact Detective Chris Campione at 219-696-6242. Indiana State Police say another road road incident involving a shooting occurred last Wednesday near the Ripley Street exit in Lake Station. The victim was hit by a bullet and injured, and police say the suspect vehicle in that incident was described as a silver or gray Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck.
