WASHINGTON, DC – Senator Dan Coats (R-Ind.), a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, today joined Wolf Blitzer on CNN to discuss the committee’s recent report on the Benghazi attack.
“There’s a lot of finger pointing, but no one has stood up and said, ‘I take responsibility for this,’” said Coats. “There were pleas from those on the ground in Libya who wanted more security and that was denied. There are questions regarding how and who made the changes that caused [then U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations] Susan Rice to go forward and say what she did about the attack being the result of a YouTube video when people knew that wasn’t the case.
“I hope we learn lessons from this, but we also have to find closure and bring justice to those responsible for this.”
