Man Shot in Road Rage Incident on Borman

Indiana State Police at the Lowell Post say a Valparaiso man was shot by another driver on the Borman Expressway in an apparent road rage incident Wednesday afternoon.  Troopers say the 48-year-old victim cut off another driver while merging from Cline Avenue onto Interstate 80/94 around 4 pm and continued eastbound, police say, when he noticed the other driver rolled down his window and began yelling.  The victim sped off to avoid a confrontation, police say, saw the suspect trying to catch up to him, then heard a loud bang.  The rear window of the victim's pickup truck shattered, and police say victim was shot once in the upper back, with the bullet exiting out the front part of his shoulder.  He was transported with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.  The suspect is described as a middle age black man with very short hair, driving a silver or gray Dodge Ram 1500 pickup.  Indiana State Police are asking anyone who may have information on this road rage incident or any information on the suspect to please call Detective Mike Bailey at 219-690-0039.
