
Democrats got a lot of what they wanted in the election last Tuesday. Barack Obama is still the president and they gained two seats in the U.S. Senate. But one key price eluded them: Republicans kept control of the House of Representatives.
So at the end of the day in Washington, the balance of power in 2013 will be a lot like the balance of power between 2010 and 2012.
That has rasied questions about House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Democrats' 72 year-old figurehead in the House of Representattves.
The San Francisco Congresswoman was Democrats' Speaker when they held control of the House from 2007 thru 2011 and stayed in the top Democratic job for their two years in the minority. Her goal of returning to the Speaker's chair is unfulfilled.
