Seacrest's Home Sold for $11M Photos: John Lennon's Island for Sale A private island in Ireland once owned by John Lennon and Yoko Ono is on sale for $384,000 or 300,000 euros. Before Lennon was killed in New York in 1980, he had plans to build a home on Dorinish Island in Clew Bay in the county of Mayo. He reportedly bought it for $2,700 or 1,700 pounds in 1967. Ono sold the 21-acre property, sometimes called "Beatle Island," to local farmers in 1984, Bloomberg reported. The current owners are reportedly selling the island because it is difficult to keep animals on it as they grow older.
