Crown Point Honors Police K-9 For Lifetime of Service

From City of Crown Point: UDO, Crown Point Police Department K-9 was honored at this month’s council meeting, Monday, July 7 at 7 p.m. in the council chambers, as July’s Employee of the Month.

Highland PD Seeking Donations for Animals

Highland Police are seeking donations to help off-set costs of improvements to the town's animal shelter -- including new security fencing, more cages to increase capacity, outside runs, a separate shed for supplies, a replacement air-conditioning unit, among many other things -- and it's a project being sponsored by Highland's Volunteers in Police Services. Copper the Wonder Dog Passes Away

From Del Cleek, K.V. PetPALS, K.V. 4-H Explorers Club, Jasper County, Indiana:

Copper was a rescued Golden Retriever. Many in Jasper County are familiar with his big red head, and soulful brown eyes. Copper had a job. A very important job. He was the Lead Team Member of the K.V. Pet PALS and spent the last six years visiting care facilities and teaching humane education programs throughout the region. Copper taught hundreds of kids how to approach dogs safely, how to care for dogs and how to visit care facilities with their pets. He visited hundreds of residents at various care centers in Jasper, Newton, Lake and Porter Counties...

The Humane Society NWIN has new hours:
Monday Tuesday Wednesday Friday Noon - 5 PM
Saturday 11 AM - 5 PM
Closed Thursdays and Sundays  
 
The Humane Society NWIN has a low cost spay/neuter day coming up on Monday, July 14th. The price for dogs is $55.00 and cats are $35.00. All animals must be current on their Rabies vaccine, if they are not, then there is a $15.00 additional fee for the vaccine.
Space fills up fast, so don't delay.

The Humane Society NWIN will be at PetSmart in Merrillville for adoption days on Sunday, July 20Th from 10 AM - 4 PM. Stop by and visit some of the pets that will be available for adoption.
